Rafael Muñoz has been fixing cars in Santa Fe since 2008. Nearly every review of this shop names him personally — Rafa, Rafael, Raf — and that is not an accident.

At a lot of shops — and at every dealership service department — you speak to a service writer, who speaks to a technician, who speaks back through the writer. Things get lost in that chain. Here you talk to the mechanic who is going to work on your car, which is the entire reason people keep coming back.

Four bays on Trades West Road on the south side of Santa Fe. Domestic and import, cars, trucks and SUVs, new and stubbornly old — a good part of the work here is keeping vehicles people are attached to on the road, properly, for years.
