Owner-operated

you talk to the mechanic, not a service writer

A Civic or Accord that gets its services kept will run a very long way with very little drama. The V6 vehicles — Pilot, Odyssey, MDX, TL — are the same story with one large asterisk: the timing belt and water pump service, which is a genuine interval and not a dealership invention.

Acura is Honda’s luxury line and shares most of the engineering, which means it shares most of the maintenance logic too, with rather more expensive consequences for skipping it.

What these vehicles ask for

The work that keeps a Honda & Acura worth owning.

Timing belt and water pump on V6 engines

Around the hundred-thousand-mile mark on J-series V6s. Doing the water pump at the same time is not an upsell; it is the whole reason to do the job once instead of twice.

Transmission fluid services

Honda automatics want Honda-specification fluid at real intervals. Deferred fluid changes are the most common cause of an otherwise avoidable transmission repair.

Motor mounts and vibration

Particularly on V6s with cylinder deactivation. A failing mount feels like something much more serious than it is.

Valve adjustment on four-cylinders

A real scheduled item on many Honda engines, and one almost nobody has done. It is quiet, inexpensive, and it protects the valvetrain.

AWD rear differential service

On AWD Pilots, CR-Vs and MDXs the rear differential fluid has a genuine service interval that is routinely missed.

Brakes, air conditioning and suspension

Ordinary wear items, measured and reported rather than guessed at.

General service knowledge for these vehicles, not a claim of factory certification. What your vehicle needs depends on its own history — which is what the diagnosis is for.

Instead of the dealership

Dealership-level attention. Local-shop honesty.

You talk to the mechanic who is going to work on your Honda & Acura. You get told what needs doing now, what can wait, and what doesn’t need doing at all. And the estimate holding is the thing our customers keep writing about.

Questions

Honda & Acura, answered.

Do you service Acura as well as Honda?

Yes — an Acura is among the vehicles customers have brought in here. Mechanically they share most of their engineering with Honda.

Is the timing belt service really necessary on my V6?

On a belt-driven Honda V6, yes. It is one of the few jobs where the manufacturer’s interval genuinely is a deadline, because the failure mode is an engine.

My Honda is out of warranty. Do I still need the dealership?

No. Bring the maintenance schedule and we will follow it, and tell you where your vehicle stands against it.
