Washboard dirt roads, freeze-thaw cracking, potholes after a hard winter, and long climbs on I-25 all load the suspension harder than the design brief assumed. Control arm bushings, ball joints, shocks, struts and wheel bearings are the usual casualties.
The diagnosis is the hard part
A clunk is easy to hear and hard to place. Bearings, bushings, sway bar links, strut mounts and loose brake hardware can all sound alike from the driver's seat. We get the vehicle up, load the joints, and find the one that's actually moving.
