Owner-operated

you talk to the mechanic, not a service writer

The middle nobody occupies

Professional enough to trust. Personal enough to know your mechanic.

Most people looking for a repair shop are choosing between two things they don’t really want. On one side, a service department: capable, expensive, and organised so that you never actually speak to the person working on your vehicle. On the other, whoever is cheapest, which is its own kind of expensive.

An independent shop that has been in one town for eighteen years is a different proposition. It survives on people coming back and telling other people. That is not a marketing position — it is the business model, and it changes every incentive in the building.

“Such a relief to find a trustworthy auto repair shop. They were kind, patient, and transparent about the work needed. No pressure, no surprises.”

What you actually get

Four things a good independent shop gives you.

01

Personal service

You talk to the mechanic who is going to work on your vehicle, not to somebody relaying messages. Ask a question and you get the answer from the person holding the tool.

02

Honest recommendations

What needs attention now, what can safely wait until the next visit, and what doesn’t need doing at all. You get told all three, so you can decide.

03

Professional diagnostics

We test before we replace. Finding the actual fault costs less than replacing parts one at a time until the warning light gives up.

04

Care over years

A vehicle that gets looked at regularly is a vehicle whose problems stay small. That is the whole point of having one shop instead of whoever is open.

Worth knowing

Three things people are surprised to hear.

Once your factory warranty is over, where the vehicle is serviced is entirely your decision. Ask us before you book if you are still inside it — we will tell you honestly when something belongs at the dealer.

A manufacturer’s maintenance schedule is a document, not a dealership service. Bring it and we will follow it, and tell you where your vehicle stands against it.

The most expensive thing in auto repair is a wrong diagnosis. Everything spent after one is wasted, which is why testing comes before quoting here.

Can we work on your vehicle?

The makes we see most.

Questions

Independent vs. dealership, answered.

Will using an independent shop void my factory warranty?

If your vehicle is still under factory warranty, talk to us before you book. Warranty rules are specific and they are not ours to summarise for your vehicle — so we will tell you plainly when something belongs at the dealer instead. Once the warranty period is over, where the vehicle is serviced is entirely your decision.

Can you do the maintenance my manufacturer specifies?

Yes. Bring the schedule or the service history and we will work from it, and tell you where your vehicle stands against it.

Will you use good parts?

We will tell you what we are fitting and why before we fit it, and where there is a genuine choice between options at different prices and different lifespans, you get to make it.

Do you work on newer vehicles?

Yes. Newer vehicles are a growing part of the work — most often for people who are out of warranty, are tired of booking three weeks ahead, and would rather talk to the mechanic directly.

What if you find something you can’t do?

We tell you, and we tell you where it should go. A shop that pretends everything is within its scope is a shop that will eventually prove otherwise on your vehicle.

When you’re ready

Tell us what it’s doing. We’ll take it from there.

Diagnosis, scheduled service or a second opinion on somebody else’s estimate. You don’t have to know what’s wrong — that’s the job.
